মোংলা বন্দর দিয়ে ঢাকার ১০ পোশাক কারখানার পণ্য নিয়ে পোল্যান্ডের উদ্দেশে ছেড়ে গেছে সিঙ্গাপুর পতাকাবাহী জাহাজ ‘এমভি মার্সক কিনঝো’।
পদ্মা সেতুর সুফল পাচ্ছেন দেশের পোশাক কারখানার ব্যবসায়ীরা।
গত বছরের ২৫ জুন সেতু উদ্বোধনের পরে পোশাক কারখানার বিপুল পরিমাণ রেডিমেড পণ্য মোংলা বন্দর দিয়ে রপ্তানি হয়েছে। ঢাকা থেকে মোংলা বন্দরের দূরত্ব কম হওয়ায় খরচ কমাতে এই বন্দরকে বেছে নিয়েছে পোশাক কারখানার ব্যবসায়ীরা।
এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় ঢাকার ১০টি গার্মেন্টসের বিপুল পরিমাণ পণ্য নিয়ে মঙ্গলবার (৬ জুন) দুপুরের দিকে মোংলা বন্দরের ৫ নম্বর জেটি থেকে পোল্যান্ডের উদ্দেশে ছেড়ে গেছে এমভি মার্সক কিনঝো।
এনিয়ে পদ্মা সেতু চালু হওয়ার পর পঞ্চমবারের মতো পোশাক কারখানার পণ্য রপ্তানি হলো মোংলা বন্দর দিয়ে।
সেতু চলার পরে প্রথম চালান গিয়েছিল গত ২৭ জুলাই। তবে এ সময়ে কী পরিমাণ পোশাক কারখানার পণ্য মোংলা বন্দর দিয়ে রপ্তানি হয়েছে, তা জানাতে পারেনি বন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ।
এছাড়া ‘এমভি মার্সক’ নামে আরও একটি জাহাজে করে একই ধরনের রেডিমেড পণ্য (পোশাক) রপ্তানির জন্য প্রক্রিয়াধীন আছে। সব প্রক্রিয়া শেষে এই জাহাজটি আগামী ২২ জুন মোংলা বন্দর ছেড়ে যাওয়ার কথা রয়েছে।
পোল্যান্ডের উদ্দেশে ছেড়ে যাওয়া জাহাজে থাকা পোশাক কারখানার পণ্যের মধ্যে বাচ্চাদের পোশাক, হেয়ার ব্যান্ড, লেগিংস, টাওজার সহবিভিন্ন গার্মেন্টস পণ্য রয়েছে।
জাহাজটিতে রপ্তানিকারক কোম্পানিগুলো হচ্ছে- ঢাকার ফকির নিটওয়ার লিমিটেড, এপেক্স লিংগারি লিমিটেড, এপেক্স স্পিনিং লিমিটেড, নিট কনসার্ন লিমিটেড, ফ্লামিংগো ফ্যাশন লিমিটেড, অনন্ত গার্মেন্টস লিমিটেড, লিবার্টি নিটওয়ার লিমিটেড, এ কে এম নিটওয়ার লিমিটেড, স্টালিং ডেনিমস লিমিটেড, স্টালিং স্টাইলস লিমিটেড।
মোংলা বন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষের উপ-সচিব মো. মাকরুজ্জামন বলেন, পদ্মা সেতু চালু হওয়ার পর মোংলা বন্দরের ব্যস্ততা অনেক বেড়েছে। এছাড়া মোংলা বন্দরের সক্ষমতাও বেড়েছে কয়েকগুণ। এই কারণে ব্যবসায়ীরা পণ্য রপ্তানির ক্ষেত্রে মোংলা বন্দরকে বেছে নিচ্ছেন। সেতু চালু হওয়ার পরে পাঁচবার আমাদের বন্দর দিয়ে পোশাক কারখানার পণ্য রপ্তানি হয়েছে। ২২ জুন আরও একটি জাহাজে করে পণ্য (পোশাক) যাওয়ার কথা রয়েছে।
তিনি আরও বলেন, ঢাকা থেকে মোংলা বন্দরের দূরত্ব ১৭০ কিলোমিটার। সেখানে ঢাকা থেকে চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরের দূরত্ব ২৬০ কিলোমিটার। আগে ফেরি থাকার কারণে ব্যবসায়ীরা ভোগান্তির জন্য মোংলা বন্দর ব্যবহার করতে চাইতেন না। এখন যেহেতু ঢাকা ও মোংলার মধ্যে কোনো ফেরি নাই, তাই পদ্মা সেতু হয়ে সরাসরি মোংলা বন্দর দিয়ে পণ্য রপ্তানি করতে ব্যবসায়ীদের আগ্রহ রয়েছে। এছাড়া মোংলা বন্দরে জাহাজ হ্যান্ডেলিং দ্রুত ও নিরাপদে হয়। জেটি অভ্যন্তরে কনটেইনার স্টাফিং সুবিধা, পর্যাপ্ত ইকুইপমেন্ট সুবিধা ও নিরাপদ বন্দর হওয়ায় ব্যবসায়ীদের আগ্রহের কেন্দ্র বিন্দুতে পরিণত হচ্ছে মোংলা বন্দর।
